The Siberian (Lesser) Sand-Plover became it's own species after the Lesser Sand-Plover was split apart in 2023. This plover is an inhabitant of eastern and southeastern Asia, it migrates into Australia during winter months. When it is seen in nonbreeding plumage, it is very similar in appearance to the Greater Sand-Plover. This plover is a vagrant seen in North America.
