The Rufous Hummingbird is one of the hardiest hummingbirds seen in North America. This hummingbird's breeding territory reaches into Alaska and is the only hummingbird to do so regularly. It is a small colourful bird and one of only a small number of hummingbird species that are seen in western Canada.
