The Eurasian Oystercatcher is a large shorebird seen throughout Eurasia. It is very similar in appearance to the native American Oystercatcher. Close observation of the bird is needed to identify the white shoulder markings at the front of its wings. This oystercatcher has been seen in North America and is a recognized vagrant.
