The Bar-headed Goose is a native waterfowl of Asia and one of the highest flying birds known in the world. It is famous for the ability to fly over the Himalayan Mountains during their spring and fall migrations. Birds seen in the wild in North America are most likely to have escaped from captive bird breeders or bird centres.
